#1797 - 15¢ Ski Jumping
Ski jumping evolved from a stunt preformed by Olaf Rye, a Norwegian lieutenant and daredevil. The first recognized competition was held in Trysil in 1862 and the sport was featured at the seminal 1924 Winter Olympics in Chamonix. At Lake Placid Finlander Jouko Tormanen and Austrian Toni Innauer took home the gold in large hill and normal hill jumps respectively. Scott 1797 Ski Jumping
