#1856 - 14¢ Sinclair Lewis
Sinclair Lewis was the first American to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature and is now known for his innovative and humorous characters. A lonely and painful youth led Lewis to run away from home at the age of 13. Later he went on to attend Yale University and write for the Yale Literary Magazine. Lewis' first commercial success "Main Street" sold over two million copies in the first few years of publication making Lewis incredibly wealthy. Scott 1856 Sinclair Lewis
