#4388 - 64¢ Dolphin
One of the most intelligent non-human lifeforms on the planet, dolphins are a diverse group of aquatic mammals. Their well-developed hearing allows them to make use of echo-location to orient themselves and to find prey. By producing up to 1000 clicks per second, they listen for their own reverberations to judge the size and distance of anything that reflects the sound back. The most commonly known species of dolphins are the bottlenose dolphin and the killer whale. Several other species of dolphins have become functionally extinct due to habitat loss and overhunting.
