# 500 - 2¢ Washington - deep rose (Ia)

One of the scarcest varieties of the Washington-Franklin series, this Type Ia was the result of an experiment to create a new method of transferring the master die to the printing plate, making the engraved lines of the design stronger and deeper than the Type I stamp.
