Lindbergh Visits Cuba #C2 - 1928 Mint Issue
After his non-stop Trans-Atlantic flight, Charles Lindbergh and the “Spirit of St. Louis” embarked on a seven-week goodwill tour of Latin America. His final stop was Cuba, where he was greeted by thousands as he landed in Havana on February 8, 1928. Cuba overprinted a special printing of their first airmail stamp to honor what was the final flight of his famous plane. Two months later it was donated to the Smithsonian Institution. (Cuba #C2)
