In 1896 Greece revived the Olympics with a series of events held in Athens, and issued their first commemorative stamps publicizing the games. These stamps celebrated the ancient Olympics, picturing artwork and venues from the era of these early games. The original set of 12 stamps is faithfully reproduced on these three commemorative sheets issued in 1996 to mark the 100th anniversary of the games. These sheets come mounted in a commemorative folder ready for display. (Greece #1832-34)
