After World War I, a conflict arose between Poland and Lithuania over the Vilnius region. In 1920, Polish General Zeligowski proclaimed the region the Republic of Central Lithuania, and stamps were issued by this provisional government until 1922, when it was incorporated into Poland. A wonderful old set showing views of Vilnius and national symbols from this Lost Nation. Central Lithuania #35-42
