Danish West Indies #35-36 - 1905 Mint Never Hinged Set of 2

The Danish West Indies, now known as the U.S. Virgin Islands, were sold by Denmark to the U.S. in 1917 for their strategic importance during World War I. These two stamps, picturing Danish King Christian IX, were issued in 1905 following a currency change from cents to bits. (Danish West Indies #35-36)
