Lithuania Basketball - 1939 Complete Mint Set of 3

One of the last pre-war Lithuania issues before the Stalin’s Soviet Union annexed the Baltic States in 1940, this set publicizes the Third European Basketball Championships held in Kaunas in 1939.  The surtax for this set was to provide equipment for the team. In the final game, Lithuania beat Latvia in a 37-36 victory. (Lithuania #B52-54)
