France #C7 Crossing English Channel - 1934 Mint Airmail

In 1909 aviator Louis Bleriot made history by crossing the English Channel from Calais to Dover in a primitive airplane of his design, winning a £1000 prize from the Daily Mail. This stamp commemorated the 25th anniversary of that legendary flight and pictures his plane and the route. (France #C7)
