# 768a - 3¢ Byrd Expedition - Imperforate without gum

In 1929 Richard Byrd established "Little America", an Antarctic exploration base located on the Ross Ice Shelf. This stamp was used to pay postage from Little America and was available only through the Philatelic Sales Agency. One of five commemorative sheets issued with "Farley's Follies," this sheet was originally printed in large sheet format and cut apart into the more wieldy form. Scott 768a Byrd Expedition
