US #2004 20¢ Library of Congress Misperf
Perforation shift creates amazing design error! One of the unexpected surprises in collecting is the discovery of stamp errors. Every collector dreams of finding an error - an inverted center, missing colors, or perforation errors - missed by the Post Office and discovered by lucky collectors. Some of the most striking error stamps are misplaced perforations or misperfs, often creating stamps of abnormal size or altered designs. We have recently discovered a small number of the 20¢ Library of Congress commemorative (#2004), issued by the U.S. Post Office in 1982, with a dramatic perforation shift. This shift creates an unintentional design error splitting the lower floors off the library! 20¢ Library of Congress Mint Misperf
